Do you worry about how clean the air you breathe is? At iRadar, we believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work and motivating others by teaching teenagers and empowering students for a brighter future. On June 26th, our GoEnvi Smart Environment Specialists were delighted to work with 16 students from SMK Tinggi Melaka for its very first Corporate Social Responsibility activity.

The 3-hour programme, developed in partnership with the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Malaysia Chapter, taught students about the importance of air quality, how to avoid air pollution, and the technologies used to monitor air quality. The IoT station can now track air quality data at SMK Tinggi Melaka, enabling students to construct a healthier environment, thanks to iRadar’s investment and the volunteers who helped put up the IoT station.

Dr. Tam Tze Huey, the keynote speaker for iRadar GoEnvi’s CSR Programme, was thrilled about the impact he and his team could make to the community and among students. "The goal of installing the IoT Station is to raise awareness and empower these students and our communities with data to change their behaviour and reduce pollution," Dr. Tam explained. "Monitoring air quality means knowing with greater certainty what conditions will exist for an outdoor activity. We want to become more active with the schools and students in the future, using environmental data to help the community live a healthy lifestyle."

The GoEnvi team also intends to educate more schools and teenagers about the importance of air quality and smart technology. We are excited to share the great efforts of our personnel with the community.
